and you should find more information than you can possibly read.
The Complete Joy of Homebrewing by Charles Papazian was the first book I bought but that was a while back - there may be better books now and better resources on the internet.
Tips:
- boil the wort outside using a turkey fryer to avoid stinking up the house and the potential PITA of a boilover on your stove. I've had to use a chisel to get the stuff off of my stove.
- never leave boiling wort unattended
- keep it simple for your first batch(es) - buy a kit rather than trying an exotic recipe
- once you get a technique down and like the results then toss/recycle the bottles and buy a small fridge, some 5gal soda kegs and a CO2 system so that you only wash one large container rather than 48+ bottles every time you make a batch of beer.
Cheers and good luck,
John
