Bye bye to the sleaze-bags...

Okay, so I was reflecting on the real estate agent we were dealing with recently and how concerned she was that:
1. She disclosed everything she could/knew
2. Made sure I understood she does not and cannot find me a house inspector, mortgage broker, etc due to conflicts of interest. She can only recommend people.
She played by the books out of fear of 'losing her license' (which she mentioned 10 times during our meeting). Then I thought, geez, imagine if the car buying experience where more like a home buying experience.
Imagine how nice the world would be if car dealerships were as tightly regulated as real estate brokers. No more "going to the manager and pretending to check on a price", no more "why don't you talk to my finance guy" (he'll make sure to screw you). Nothing. Just a straightforward, honest transaction with full disclosures (when appropriate) and honest financing. Cross that line and you lose your license. Whew...that would clean up the industry abit, huh?
