Truthfully I'd like to keep anything to do with IKEA as far from SAAB as possible. I've driven Saabs since before the first IKEA opened outside of Philadelphia (near my home)in the early eighties. Generally speaking their stuff is made very poorly, but they do have some nice designs. If you get the more expensive items it'll last longer, but on the whole it doesn't hold up.
Overall your point is a good one though, Saab should emphasize their design more as a marketing tool. They do to some degree, but it's not the main focus. However, the designs are less and less Scandanavian nowadays, with GM and Subaru in the mix....
