information on mass produced consumer electronics. Once Yamaha changed the product line you are pretty much on your own. There is Audigon (http://www.audigon.com), you may find someone who is selling similar components and see if you could find additional information in their for sale ads. If you want to know the prices then and now, you may have to join Audiogon as a paying member and you can browse through the Orion Bluebook for the vintage and current price on these components.
Some mid to high-end manufacturers do post information on past products especially if they have a loyal following but not likely for Yamaha consumer electronics.
As with many audio equipment, if they sound good to you, then enjoy them. Drinking by the label doesn't always work. We as Saab owners should know that, right ? Did I see another post on BMW vs Saab 8-) ?
