1. There are two countries that you cannot take rent a car from any of EU country. One of them is italy and the other one is Czech Republic.
I know. Czech is also consider as eastern europe and all of them is not allow EU rent vehicle. but Listen to me. There is reason for that.
Next to italy, Czech's insurance premium is way high.
When most of EUs are less than 65, Czech is almost 250.
There are various way to get hurt. I strongly suggest does not take any credit card and even you take cash. do not have all of them with you.
Also, two copies of passport and other important document is strongly recommand.(One in your luguge, One in your pocket)
Even you don't use it, just don't take it with you period.
Copy your credit card's magnetic at any ATM is very much regular these day and Czech is actually one of the first country that was invented.
Best way is using pre-charged traveler's card.
If you have about 200 dollar cash and another two or three of those traveler's card (about couple hundred dollar charged)(From VISA or AMEX), and put in several diffrent location is most safe way to do it.
Also, When you asked show your passport, Make sure you do it middle of public. Still there is this kind of rip off.
I've been in Czech three times and I've had some happening every each time when I go there.
First trip, I needed to change all of my credit cards since somebody copy my magnetic and try to use it.
Second trip, my hotel room was cleaned up (that's exact words that I want to use)
Third trip, My friend's car was stolen and not yet recovered. (last year)
