Get some euros when you get to Frankfurt. Keep them in several places.
Get a money belt for under your clothes and one as a regular belt. Eagle Creek makes nylon web belt that is widely available, may be even in airports. Have used one for years.
Call your bank and rearrange your accounts so you can limit what accounts can be accessed with your debit card. You should still be able to find an internet cafe where you can move $$ to the card-accessible account.
If you have American Express, go to an AMEX office when you get to Frankfurt and get some travelers checks in euros. You pay a fee to use them , but they are a bit more secure than cash.
Make a copies of your passport front page. Take 2 with you, in separate places.
Leave one with someone at home. Some people scan them and put a copy on a hidden page of their web site as well.
But in all likelihood, you will be fine. It just pays to be careful.
Have a safe trip.
