Well they're somewhat correct. The fact is that a loaner car program is offered to the dealer. They purchase a new car from Saab that is designated as a loaner when they buy it. It is up to each dealer to determine what model and how many they want. That's the loaners. Rental cars are another thing. If the dealer has no loaners available, no dealer can authorize more than one day rental and the car in for service has to meet certain criteria. Yes, a 7 hour job that requires an overnight stay is one of them. Since you're vehicle did not meet the criteria and I assume no loaners were available at the time, alternate transportation is the owners responsibility. That's the policy for every dealer in the U.S. Sorry about that but I hope it clarifies things.
