elsewhere or DIY. It takes about 20 mins or so to do your own oil, or find a good indy --even a local gas station/garage-- to do it for you. At least then you have someone who knows how to use a wrench--and wants you to come back for other work. The chains don't care because you are a commodity to them.
I have used VIOC, Jiffy, and a couple of local chains and at best they are mediocre and convenient. At $15 to $25 for an oil change all you are saving is time, and you get (possibly) decent oil but not a good filter. You also have the risk of them screwing up--as you found out. An oil change place near me left the drain plug off a car, which self destructed at the traffic light 1/4 mile away. Count yourself lucky!
