I bought my 97 900 SET in January. It came mounted with brand new Blizzak WS-50s. Good thing too. We had 22" of snow over the course of a week. I had no problem getting around. The ride is rough and noisy on dry, and don't expect to do ANY performance driving.
If I were buying snow tires this season I would take a SERIOUS look at the Dunlop Winter Sport M3. Good reviews on Tirerack.com and good price. Of course, the previous model Dunlop M2's are on sale for $89/ea....
