Two recent threads on the 9^5 board have suggested that a dealer may report an "in service date" that is much earlier than the date of first retail sale, and that this can cause complications with warranty end date. This sounds strange. Can anybody shed any light? How would the dealer get any benefit from doing this? Should we all investigate the "in-service dates" of our cars and see if they need to be corrected?
