I could not find where you posted the oil that was used in this engine?
dyno? synthetic? semi?
Was the oil level checked and any makeup oil added in that time?
New engine, rings not seated, lots of blow-by acids and wear metals. All contribute to the polymerization of the oil. Cold starts and fuel gets into the oil, more chemicals for the soup. Ethanol fuels might be adding to the sluge potential.
And all of this happened in a -not cold' climate.
