Peter:
Thanks for the info!
Actually have a source for pellets. My friend owns a cabinet door shop and donates all of their scraps & sawdust to a pellet manufacturer, so he gives him a nice discount for friends/family ($100-$125/ton).
Yes! Have plenty of storage for the pellets here in the basement as we have about 400 sq/ft of unfinished space...just for storage.
We haven't had a power outage here yet, but the place is heated by an electric heat pump, and the power company just jacked rates up by 10% here in CT, so that's one of my concerns for something more efficient.
I'd be all for a wood stove, but condo laws here say that's a no no! Go figure, we can have a pellet stove and open face fireplaces, but no wood stoves.
Do you know if your neighbors had their pellet stove in the basement? Or was it on the main level? Basically my main question, if it's in the basement, will the blower from the HVAC be suitable enough for circulating the heat to upstairs by means of it's blower? Heat rises as it is, so I figured that might work out in conjunction with that factor.
Thanks again!
