and love all of them. I would recommend going to your local animal shelter and pick out 2, that way they have company. Be sure to have them spayed and neutered. As to male or female, if they are kittens and you have them seen to, it makes little difference. Also, if you want to have fun, be sure to get at least one of those toys that have the feathers on the end of a string tied to a stick. Cats love those and that way you can join in on the fun too! Also be sure to get a cat nip bag!
Getting them from the animal shelter saves them from the possibility of being put to sleep. A lot of shelters don't do that, but a lot of them still do and the shelters usually have at least some of the vetenary things already done.
Good luck with your new kitty (or kitties) and enjoy them! When you get them home, just open the box and let them find their own way out and after a little bit, just take them to the litter box and help them paw a few times and usually that will take care of it.
