When we were kids we heard this Swedish rhyme, kind of like FIAT (Fix It Again Tony).
Köp en Opel bli belåten, se naturen genom plåten.
When translated to english the rhyme is completly lost and the funnyness of it is gone.
Buy an Opel and be satisfied, see the nature through the sheet metal.
Opels were known back then to rust a lot.
Todays Opel I have no clue about but I have a feeling that they are just as good (or bad) as any other brand.
If you can't trust a $75,000.00 Jaguar for more than 50-70K miles and then it needs extensive engine do over, why would a cheaper car be any better.
Do a Google search for XK8 timing chain failure.
