...that GM is committed to keep the Sweden plant only through 2010.
In my opinion, this means that GM has not decided where next
generation Saab 95 will be built and that it will take a long time
before next generation 95 will be introduced.
The current 95 will be facelifted and since GM says that
some Saabs will be built in Sweden through 2010 it implies
that the facelifted 95 will be sold through 2010.
Cadillac BLS production does not help much. It is based on
current 93. At some point it will be too old platform.
If there will be 2nd generation BLS it does not make sense
to build it in Sweden for the same reasons GM decided that
it does not make sense to build Vectra and 93 in separate plants.
So BLS production will be moved to Germany in 2010 or it will
be discontinued altogether after GM learns that nobody wants
to buy a hideous looking car :)
Based on today's news I think the future does not look bright
for Trollhättan plant. :(
