Something I picked up a couple weeks ago and can't get out of my freakin' head...Remember in "Hi Fidelity," the little neighborhood bar scene, and the white guy with the afro is playing a grand piano? I always wondered who it was, but he's not on the soundtrack. Finally found it...calls himself "Plush," (actual name is Liam Hayes)...album is "More You Becomes You." It's just piano, voice, a little organ, french horn...it's very Bacharach-ish, Carole King-ish...paralyzingly nice, no real song structures, themes drift in and out. He has another album, "Fed," which is supposedly his masterwork, but it's only available in Japan and costs 30 bucks : 0.
Guilty pleasure of the moment: Anita Baker's "Body and Soul"...when I hear it at the grocery store my pop tarts get all soggy.
