We draw back from the grid at night at 1x. During the winter, we have shorter days = more drawing from the grid than in summer. The amount used is calculated over the course of a calendar year. I run about 5 computers, at least 3 run 24x7 plus all these peripherals (routers, printers, hubs, etc) so we end up owing a couple hundred dollars at the end of the year. This set up works best for people who are not at home during the day.. they would easily zero out their balance. But no, you can earn a check back from our local electric company (Pacific Gas & Electric).
