this is not the best way to get medical attention plus there is not enough information to make a reasonable diagnosis. plus, do the typos suggest you were seeing worse than you think? i'm no opthamologist, but seeing shapes or lights or colors is usually a retinal problem, the worst being a detachment, or could be a migraine equivalent. at an older age (above say, 55) inflammation is a consideration and could be serious. i can't imagine stress or caffeine could do it (unless it is related to a migraine). any opthamologist should be able to help diagnose it. recommend you get seen very soon; a detachment is an emergency. and give us follow up.
