i get these about 2-3 times a year. starts as a small spot where i can't see and starts to sparkle and then slowly expands until i can't see much of my left field of vision. sometimes my lips tingle, other times my face feels slightly numb, and a couple of times i've gotten small headaches. i sometimes feel a little foggy in the brain too when it happens. lasts 45 min start to finish. kinda trippy.
my father diagnosed me (he's a neurosurgeon) and i got a CT scan just in case but was totally normal. you might wanna get it checked out just for peace of mind, but it's nothing.
they're kinda cool once you know you're not stroking out or something. plus you have about 5-10 min before there is a big vision loss so you can stop driving or doing whatever.
