... many providers now give you the ability to use your existing phone jacks for VOIP as well .. so the single access point is not always the issue it once was...

.. if you use the ISP provided VOIP service , it is more secure.. unlike the add on's such as Vonage that use the open internet ...

.. other negatives to weigh in..
1) power hit... take out your phone if using VOIP... unlike traditional phone line
2) some services don't allow you to transfer over your phone number when swithcing over to VOIP.. .(Vonage does allow it.. companies like Cablevision OptimumVoice do NOT)
3) some services suffer with performance when using the phone and uploading/downloading large files via the ISP at the same time.. Supposedly if you use your ISP provided VOIP rather than a 3rd party add-on (e.g. Vonage) this is not an issue.. as they prioritize that bandwidth for their phone service....
nimasupport gagahkeep your existing manmaonegh as it typically s one downfall of many partie
