My Dad's best friend had always driven Saabs. He would buy a cheap C900 and drive it well past 300K, using it for his business (always had a "nice" Saab too, not for business). So based on that, and the excellent safety repuation, my parents bought one back in 1990 to go along side the "big Benz". It was a navy 900S, auto, slow as hell, but for some reason (and I didn't know why back then), I loved this strange looking Swedish car. The car lasted over 12 years (with us... I'm sure its still alive somewhere) until it was replaced with an NG900SET, which is still around.
Shortly after my parents got a Saab, my aunt got one ('93 900S, red, auto, "Snoopy"), which is still around, and I drive it occasionall. She convinced two of HER friends to get Saabs. So its kind of a chain reaction type thing.
Fast forward to 2002, I pick up my '95 9K Super CS to replace the big, awful, old S Class (Dad's old Benz) that I had been (reluctantly) driving around. And I've never doubted myself, and I know that my next car will be a Saab, and the one after that...
