Lexus models. Not that Lexus isn't a great line of cars, but the recent safety recall of the RX300 and RX330 (IIRC) for total brake system failure just shows that the quality gap between the major marquees is effectively non-existant.
I believe that the 9-7X is still positioned slightly below the cost of its direct competitors. Pricing is a double-edged sword; price it too much below the category leader and no one will think it is a viable competitor, don't price it far enough below and you won't realize any "capture sales". Incentives can help with this as they give the manufacturer a tool with which to fine tune their pricing structure after the customers have spoken, and without having to change sticker prices.
Only time will tell if the marketing wizards have guessed right with the 9-7X's pricing.
