Maybe you can graduate to aTRAIN in the future Posted by Railhead [Email] (#93) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Railhead) on Mon, 2 May 2005 02:12:36 In Reply to: Re: OT: I drove a semi truck (with a trailer)!, kansas, Sun, 1 May 2005 22:45:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The Detroit series 60 is a wonderful motor, and I know of several that have gone over 1 million miles with out a rebuild. the pistons are as big as paint cans, but the best part if it is the power to get up over the mountains...When I first started driving Detroit Diesels it was the 8v71, putting out about 280 horses (8 cyl. x 71 cubic inches per cyl) We could pull Donner about 38 mph. Now with the new engines, 55 mph. We can actually keep up with the traffic. Glad you had a great experience.. you should see how they do in a 45 foot bus. how about 86 mph???
I hope you get familiar with the Ep50 system...It is the future.
