After shelling out quite a bit of money and time to attend this race, to have this happen, I cannot emphasize how angry I am. I drove down from Chicago, but numerous people in my section had flown internationally from South America and Europe. I felt terrible for them. For those 14 cars to run the warm-up lap and then drop-out... that was just rubbing salt in the wounds. Why couldn't they have just NOT lined up on the grid in the first place? It was a real shock to everyone in the stands. We left after 10 laps; I had no interest in watching Ferraris engage in what amounted to a practice session for points.

While I do live in Chicago now, I am a native of Indianapolis and have attended every race at that facility for the past 20 years. I have never seen such a disgusting display of disrespect for the fans. I understand this was a safety issue, but there were PLENTY of opportunities for resolution available. They just didn't make the effort, and apparently didn't care. I don't see how F1 plans to "make it" in the USA if they can't generate some respect for the few fans over here in the states that support them.
