Also consider the implications of liquid cooling. A V config with one cylinder in the wake of the front one will have the rear cylinder running hotter. Liquid cooling will not have much of that effect. Liquid cooling will also make an engine quieter as far as valve banging goes.
Fuel injection offers a full range throttle response. With coventional slide valve bike carbs, you have to work the throttle right or things seem to bog down with too much throttle at lower RPMs. This is because the velocities past the slide jet/needle drop too low under those conditions.
