Although, unfortunately, I am one of those pilots who got their license and hasn't really utilized it much. Not because i don't love flying, but because it is wicked expensive (for me, anyway). I got my license when I was 18 years old (I am now 24), and havnen't flown in 3-4 years. I learned in a C-172, which is about as easy as driving a car. It's hard to screw up in that plane.
What really turned me on ws paragliding, which I do do today - it's cheaper and, to me, simulates more of what flying is all about. No traffic control, no worrying about engine failures, just you and the air -
Of course, it won't work for tranportation really, and not very comfortable in the winter hehe.
I would love to fly an airplane again though, it was my goal for a long time to be a career pilot, then I decided I didnt want to because I would never be home, my income would be capped, etc. (i decided to move towards entrepreneursihp instead, would be nice to be like Burt Rutan!)
