Private licensed since '86, VFR night rating about '90, about 300 hrs, mostly in a homebuilt I restored myself (engine/interior/paint/electrical/controls). Sold the homebuilt in '96 or so and bought a Corvair to restore, with a new kid wanted to stay on the ground awhile.
Flew the Tomahawk enough to solo/rent them. Apparently they had a bad stall/spin record that was repaired by adding stall strips on the wings. Had to spin them in training (spin training mandatory in Canada) and never thought there was anything unusual.
My homebuilt however snapped so fast one time while I was abusing it that it left me with a sideways whiplash, a big gouge in the side window where my headset hit it, and a need to go home and change pants.....
Rent and fly C152 on occasion now, mostly to keep my license activated.
