Right now GM is giving everyone the benefit that normally only comes to
GM Employees, the GMS or GM Employee price. That price can be roughly estimated at 10% off the MSRP less any additional incentives. There's only roughly a 6% margine between MSRP and invoice so the GMS or GM Employee price is well below invoice. Then there are the addtional incentives to be deducted from that ranging from as little as $2k on 9-3 Sedans to as much as $5k on all 9-5's which differs also according to whether the car is purchased of leased. Sometimes the incentive is greater for lease as in the case of 9-3 sedans, $3k for lease vs $2k for purchase, sometimes it's better for purchase as with 9-5's. The effect of this has been a huge shot in the arm for GM sales and especially Saab sales, but genuine GM employees are the losers as their benefit is sincerely being offered to everyone.

You pay what we pay is only good on 2005's, so now that some of the 2006's have arrived your GM Employee discount again becomes a significant advantage. And remember the 2006's have MSRP's/list prices that are also massively lower. For example a 2006 9-3 SportsSedan has an MSRP over $4,000 less than the roughly equivalent 2003 9-3 Arc. The lowest MSRP 2005 9-3 Linear was $27,570. The lowest 2006 9-3 SportSedan, no Linear or Arcs for 2006, is only $26,650 and comes with lots and lots of extra value with standard equipment that for 2006 includes a power drivers seat, dual digital climate control/ACC, interior wood trim, Infotainment Screen 12 preset radio head, color matched lower bodywork and the 210hp 2.0T engine to top it off.
