Their first album came out when I was still in college. I still have it on vinyl somewhere. The first track oin that album really blew us away back them. The original line-up with Fripp, Lake (later of Emerson, Lake & Palmer) and McDonald was the best. A real ground-breaking group. That whole period, for me the end of college and a tour in the Army (say 1968-1972) was full of great pioneer progressive rock bands: Traffic, Yes, The Band, The Moody Blues, King Crimson, Jethro Tull,...
Man, I'm going to have to dig those old albums out tonight and play them again. Unless the drive belts on my old turntable have rotted away in this age of the CD and MP3.
/Geoff
