I have an iBook at work (almost 3 years), and a no-name box PC at home that I've had for at least 7 years.
There is no comparison at all. The iBook is so much easier to use. My wife regularly borrows my iBook at home to do stuff, and then has me email her the documents to the home computer once I get to work (please don't tell me how to network my mac to the pc--this works just fine!).
But the shining star lately came when I was assigned a project for work while I was on vacation. Around the office, I'm the tech guy by default--I simply know more about computer than my coworkers, so I'm always asked to solve the problems, and can usually do so.
We had a conference for our staff yesterday. During lunch, my boss wanted a slideshow presentation of pictures that had been taken throughout the year of our staff and clients (we provide residential services to mentally retarded adults). In about 8 hours, I imported all the photos from CDs, email, and a digital camera, set them in groups, exported a slideshow to iMovie, added titles, added transitions, and created a soundtrack. I even had credits at the end!
Got lots of positive feedback--excellent, it looked professional, etc. etc. All thanks to iMovie.
My other choice was to use PowerPoint. I ran away from Microsoft and into the loving, intuitive, easy to use arms of Macintosh.
We're switching at home as soon as I can get to it--probably over the winter.
