according to NPR, they had national guard ready to go on SUNDAY yet did not get them into the area until FRIDAY. Why? Because of lack of coordination and because Bush wanted the NG to have complete control. Did you hear the NPR story about the sequence of events in NO? It was stunning -- trucks driven to places with no one there to unload them; people ready to go into the area but couldn't because of poor leadership/miscommunication; the list is extensive. After hearing part of the story, I was physically shaking I was so angry. The article that is presented above is Bush spin and it's wrong.
