You can use any card with the visa/mastercard sign on it, it is better to use this as you get a commercial exchange rate, rather than the tourist rate you would get with travellers checks. If you don't like the this idea and want travellers checks I believe American Express do them in the form of a card which is much easier than actually carrying checks around.
