But trying to use any one device for multiple purposes results in a lot of compromises. Who really wants to listen to music on tiny little PC speakers anyways, or watch a wide screen movie on a 17-inch diaganal TFT screen with narrow viewing angle?
I got acquainted with computers back in the day when you were lucky if the machine could perform one task at a time without crashing! As a result I am reluctant to ask any of my PC's to do more than one thing at a time. But my kids don't share my views and always have multiple things going on at once - as long as it is their machine I just grit my teeth and don't say anything.
