The Sony Mac version (or Mac equivalent) does the same sort of thing. In fact, I think the uninstaller creates and even bigger hole than the PC version from what I have read. If the software your installing lacks integrity it doesn't matter what O/S you run it on your still vulnerable. Want to guess where the term 'root kit' originated? Hint it was on systems that had a root account for which it is named. The biggest problem with Windows is it makes things easy and seamless and it long lacked a properly structured privilege seperation. Oh and they didn't even pretend to care about security. But if install something that is compromised or vulnerable that you can't trust your sunk regardless.
