Sounds like you got a solicitation for paid training and the trainer knows the GM at the local dealer. I do know training schools that have good reputations and many corporate clients for their graduates. I'm just surprised that the car biz would fall into the category. Ususally the local NADA, National Automobile Dealer Alliance, will hold classes, but I thought that was paid for by the NADA and hence the dealers and free to the potential sales person.
Your average commissions seem about right, though I wouldn't call it a salary, over $100k sure, $45k average, ususally less than $25-30 and they move you on or you move yourself on, $60-70-80 not uncommon, lots of $23-30k folks moving on.
