The one you linked to truly sounds like a scam. This one could be similar except that it has involved the dealership. Maybe the dealership doesn’t realize it is being scammed or participating in a scam. A little digging and the training company even has two mirror websites, albeit operating under the same company name. I am also suspicious that there is almost no info on this company on the web, at least that I could find.

I think I am going to show up tomorrow to find out more. If it is a scam, a quick note to my attorney general might help someone else in the future. I will also notify monster.com. I called the company’s main office. They said depending on how much the dealer subsidizes the fee it costs between $295 and $589. Call me stupid, but for the average unemployed person, this is not a small fee.
I am a bit concerned about what they can do with the info on the application I filled out. Usual employment info, name, SS#, etc. Maybe I will ask for it back if I leave. Of course, they could have entered the info, but I doubt they are that quick.
