yes.
I don't see a down side. They wouldn't send you to Japan if they didn't think you could do thejob and represent the company well. I hhave friends who have done ex-pat gigs and they all recommnend them. You get paid well, they cover your lodging while there, there are lots of opportunities to strut your stuff. It looks great on the resume and if you are going to be managing it's an extra feather in your hat as you go forward.

Make a point of learning some Japanese.
