Opinion Journal.com the electronic Wall Street Journal as noted earlier is a great read, Human Events Online, Instapundit, Little Green Footballs and National Review Online. On those sites there are links to others of all leanings, you can surf them all until you find the ones that consistently interest you.
The growth of the net based reporting and commentary has broken the lock on traditional news, much as 500 cable channels altered the influence of the "Big Three" of the 50/60s, CBS, NBC and ABC on televison. We have alternatives. Witness the the embarrassing hit Dan rather took last year, independent analysis on the net uncovered a fraud that the traditional media would not admit to. They still don't.
A good recent example of the bias in the Times was the revelation that Radio America was financed with funds from a NYC non-profit, intended to benefit kids I think, a move beyond the scope of its charter. But the director had the power to move the $800,000 of non-profit money so he did what he wanted to help his favorite political cause. Big scandal, unless you only read the Times, then you never knew of it because they didn't report it. They did, however, run a big interview, in the Sunday magazine section I think, of one of the female DJs at Air America during the height of the scandel - and never mentioned the stolen money in the article. The notion of who, what, when, where and why seems to be lost the Times. And thus their circulation suffers for it.
Another thing us Times readers noticed with some amusement was that Koffi Anan was on the society pages every week at one cocktail party or another, often seen next to Brokaw, Jennings and Rather or other NY celebs. Well, the Times folks won't report on the latest UN scandal and its ongoing ineffieciencies when they will be on the "A" guest list with Koffi next week. Ask him a hard question in the news and you'll be at Blockbuster the night the next gala is held. The paper rarely took the UN's failings to task in print, its all a tightly knit social club. The net based reporting is not so encumbered.
