Mike: "Be Afraid..be Very Afraid!" To paraphrase Shakespeare..."The evil that men do lives after them, but the good is oft' interred with their bones!" There will be NO good interred with the bones of the NYT.
As I was growing up I heard the NYT described as a paper "owned by Catholics, written by Jews, for Protestants." Now, I don't if that old trite phrase was accurate or not, but I do know that their writing alienated me years ago. The content of their stories are lost in their attempts to influence the reader and I usually find that the filter on my anti-bull shit glasses can't be set high enough for their writings.
I do make a concession and read the International Herald Trib which is published by the NYT, but I want to get info on international news and the BBC is just too hard to navigate and drill-down to find what I want.
The NYT views are akin to a Woody Allen world perspective...all of his comedic humor, and the NYT "enlightened reporting" is centered in and around one small island in NY...and everyone should share their views/humor. I wish they would get back to reporting instead of attmepting to influence the news. I personally would not provide them with any personal info by subscribing to their internet version.
