There was a time in the 80s when they wouldn't even let you on the lot of any of the big car plants if you were driving a competitor's car, even if you were a visitor. Now that was stupid, to expect everyone in the world to be driving your make. This kind of makes sense, if you work at Ford and don't drive a Ford, you don't really believe in the product you're making. Even though it makes sense, I still disagree with it.
