Big deal. The Cray Y-MP we had at work in 1985 could compile Unicos in 15 seconds :-)
Seriously, it's pretty impressive... To answer the original question, tho, none of the stuff mentioned is dual-core-happy. How many cores do you need to surf da web? Things like software development, servers, database, Photoshop, and the such can benefit, but most anything else is not likely to be helped.
Check somethng like Tom's Hardware for single-app benchmarks (office, games, etc).
