Solution to bumpah' woes...

I keep my bumpers looking new in NYC with the following:
FRONT:
External EZ-Pass tag is essentially a city funded two inch (with plate) bumper ram.
REAR:
I bought a product called "Bumper Beaver" from a no name internet retailer (based out of Queens)... It's a thick rubber mat with two velcro strips. The strips attach to the floor of your trunk...park...open trunk...flip out the bumper beaver....close trunk...... it covers 80% of the bumper and prevents the dreaded license plate slice...
I forgot to put it out *once* a month ago; surely enough the next day I had a small slice across the black strip in my rear bumper. It really works.
I hope that helps!
Tom
PS- When in the city be wary of night cleaning regulations, large parts of the city have street cleaning from 2AM-5AM even on the weekends...
