I'd only add that you can seek the balance between the
air pressure and the curb to make sure you're not
damaging the tire. Place the tranny into neutral and
let air pressure push the car away from the curb.
No foot/parking brake; no gear at this point. Just the
tire wedge to the curb holds the car.

You will find yourself wiggling your butt to help the
car settle in. It's an irresistable urge. lol

In both uphill and downhill parks you should have full wheel
locks; right for downhill and left for uphill.

To get the distance from the curb for the full right wheel
lock (downhill) park you need firt to 'zig' left a turn and then
immediately 'zag' to your full right wheel lock.

Both parks should be started closer to the curb than you
would normally park so you don't leave the car at an awkward-
looking angle to the curb (arse out).

On all slow-speed steering, apply the truck driver's axiom: Slow vehicle;
fast hands.
