I was sitting on the sofa with my husband to be (we had been living together for about 4 years at that point). We had talked about getting married over the years, but never got to the point of finalizing it.
He initiated the conversation this time, and he said that he thought that we should get married. I said, "that sounds a lot like a proposal, and I wanted to be clear--is he asking me to marry him?" He said yes, and I said well, that is no way to propose, could he please get down on one knee and ask in a more romantic way. He did, and I said yes (believe me, I made him jump through a few more hoops). Then I said, OK so we are officially engaged correct? He said yes, and I pulled out the calendar, set the date and called everyone we knew within the next 20 minutes.
Talk about a man trap, huh? We are about to celebrate our first anniversary in two weeks, and we are still happy. He loves to tell the story of how I made him marry me.
Oh yeah, sorry no Saab involved in this story.
