to be cherished and honored. And some friends last a lifetime. Some you even marry.
Communication is one of the keys. IMHO you need to talk with the woman and kind of sound each other out. You say, "I'm not sure I'm interested (yet)." Well, timing is important. She wants a relationship but you're not ready. But the fact that you say "yet" means you might be, and who knows, she may be sensitive to signals you don't know you're giving.
She's probably been talking with her friends asking what she should do, so you're not alone in being uncertain.
Be honest with her... Go have a beer or something to eat. Tell her you're not sure you want to move the relationship to that level but that you truly value her friendship. See what she has in mind and maybe you can move slowly in that direction. Relationships evolve in many different ways. Take it as it comes, at least for now. But have this conversation in person, not via email or the phone. This HAS to be face to face.
But don't reject her by reflex. You wouldn't be the first guy who didn't realize he found the right person until she hit him over the head.
That's my $0.02
