Unsafe Speed Ticket

Alright, so today I'm behind a statie on I-95 in Delaware going about 75 MPH in a 55 MPH zone but staying probably 7-8 car lengths behind him. He and I both were BARELY going any faster than the other three lanes of traffic. This goes on uneventfully for 5 minutes when he suddenly slams on his brakes, I slam on mine, then he accelerates to 65 MPH and I accelerate to 55 MPH, figuring he got pissed or something that I'm following him (even though I'm well behind him). He then slames on his brakes again and pulls onto the left shoulder while I pass him going 50 MPH in the 55 MPH and then he puts his lights on and pulls me over.
So he comes up to my car and says that I was tailgating him (even though MULTIPLE cars cut between him and I a few times and then got away from him after realizing he was a statie), although I was 7 car lengths behind him. he then says that "he had me going 86 MPH in a 55 MPH zone" even though I know we never broke 80 MPH. Anyway, to make a long story short, he gave me a ticket for "unsafe speed" which is a two-point penalty and a $45.00 fine. It's not the fine or the points that bother me (I have the money and I have a three-point credit from an advanced driver training class that will wipe out the two points), it's that I just got a clean record in September from a previous speeding ticket.
Now I don't speed very often, and when I do it's when traffic is very light and I realize that I'm taking a risk. The thing about today is that he didn't put down a speed that he clocked me at (because my guess is that he never did clock me as I was behind him) and he probably caused more of a hazard by slamming on his brakes (going from 75 MPH to around 45 MPH very quickly) than I did by following him going 20 MPH over. And now that my record is 100% clean, I really don't want my insurance to go up again because of this.
I figure that I really don't have anything to lose by fighting this. They can't give me more points if I lose, and even if they increase the fine from $45 to $245, it's still less than what my insurance company would increase my rate by. I guess that I would argue that he has no idea what my speed was and cannot judge it to be unsafe as I was behind him and that he drove erratically by slamming on his brakes twice and causing a major disruption in the flow of traffic (a stretch, I know, but worth a try).
Anyone else have any ideas that I could use?
Thanks in advance,
Andrew In DE
