I think there's no right answer, except to say that there were no 4-door Viggens. Also, you probably want a little more interior room than a car like the Viggen has. So I'd say either 9000 or 9-5. The 9-5 does have a little more spiffy interior, but I frequently read comments on this BB about how someone's friend or acquaintance is asking whether the 9000 they are riding in is a new car, or they are surprised it's so old. So I would disagree that it seems dated to all but the Saab connisseur.

I guess everything depends on what image you want to convey to your clients. Utility, function, practicality - get a 9-5 wagon. But make sure it's an Aero, if you want any driving excitement. My wife and I have an '01 9-5 wagon with the 170 hp engine, and it's not an exciting car. But it is comfortable on the highway. I wouldn't get a 9-5 sedan, if you have to cart around boxes of stuff, and occasionally it would be nice to carry something really big.

I've driven the 9-5 Aero, and it is tighter, but my '91 9kt is even tighter, and great at accident avoidance, I've found (active safety). My wife drives our 9-5, and she recently found the same thing, saying that her situation would have resulted in a crash if she were in her 9-5 instead of my 9kt.

If your clients would be comfortable with sporty, find a 9000 Aero. The nice seats will impress them. As for 9000 parts becoming a rarity, I haven't experienced this at all, and I've never read that on this BB, except in the one comment on this thread. OK - maybe it's true of the AMM - you have to get a rebuilt one, instead of new. Otherwise, it's fine.
