I may have unintentionally misrepresented my place of residence.
I'm in beauuuu-tyful New Jersey where the grass is brown and the sky is grey; not that I see much of it being holed up in Manhattan for the larger portion of the day. I do have family in Switzerland; hence the enthusiasm in my prior post.
If you're not going to ski and prefer to soak in the sights I would head to Zermatt. Verbier is more of a ski town Zermatt is a world destination. The trains leave from town and ascend the mountains that surround the valley, they make various stops long the way at observatories and worlds highest hotel (elevation wise) then the train stops at a midstation....from which the only way to Klein Matterhorn (13,000ft) is a cable car. Once on Klein matterhorn you can walk on top of the glacier and tour the ice caves below. Very sedate, very family oriented, nothing crazy, sip some hot cocoa, cable car down, and board the mountain train for the 35 minute ride down.
Even if you won't ski visiting Zermatt is an experience.
Stop by the chocolatier on your way out of town (you have to park your car in an adjacent town and take a special train into town) and stock up.........then head to Italy....again rail express you can head from Milan in the North to Rome in a matter of hours....quite a few but its fun...
Never been to Greece. I am partial to snowboaring, snow, cold climates and mountain elevations.
