It is on literally 24/7 at 100% CPU useage running distributed computing programs. It is astonishingly stable. It's only turned off when I bring it with me.
I've had it with me on a 10+ week journey through countries with some It was also extremely easy to upgrade the RAM and harddrive in it (put in a 100GB HD and an extra 512MB RAM). pretty extreme weather. Like 4 weeks in a 4WD bouncing all over the place going through rough and dusty (fine grained red dust covering all surfaces) tracks in the Australian outback. Or in hot and humid Papua New Guinea. And not a single problem in it's 8 month life so far. It's not even like it's an expensive laptop with a fancy magnesium chassis like the thinkpads, so I've been pleasantly surprised at how well it's stood up to hard use.
All in all I can't really recognize the other Toshiba experiences here.
