This is WAY OT so any advice I'd appreciate.
have a hot water radiator, pump circulated, that is in the basement. The radiator itself is about the level of the bottom of the boiler, but in the next room. However, the piping to the radiator goes up to the basement ceiling, across the ceiling into the next room, then down to floor-ish level to the radiator. Can't get any hot water to the radiator, not even into the pipes, and the pipes feel empty when I lift them.
the radiator has a small (2"diameter x 3" high) cylinder on top, with a shrader valve (like on a tire for air) on top of that. I drained the system completely a few times last year for maintenance etc. now no heat, although when I press that shrader valve water drains and eventually feels warm. I suspect the return pipe has an air bubble in it, that I can't figure out how to drain
Any advice even though you've never seen the system?
TIA
Mike
